The Bridge Ministry is already off to a great New Year. As many of you know at the end of last year the Health Department came to the bridge and would not let us serve our food to the homeless. They let us know that we needed a mobile kitchen. Since these can run from any where from $10,000 on up we knew the Lord would have to intervene, and he did. Thanks to donors like you we raised all the money needed plus found one at a great price. It made its fist appearance under the bridge on January 23rd and is absolutely perfect for what we needed.
We had some very special visitors come to the bridge this month. Pastor Greg Beasley from New Bethel Church in AL came with a youth group on New Years Day. They were such a help and a blessing. While with us under the bridge, they saw the need the homeless had for tents. When they got home they started raising money. The next week they came back with a van load of tents. These tents have been such a blessing to our friends who are in desperate need of shelter especially this time of year.
We also want to thank Carpenters Christian Fellowship from KY. They brought a group down on a Tuesday. They spent the day sorting through clothes and shoes. They brought with them 2 pallets of water and 2 pallets of men’s jeans that we were in great need of. The Lord always provides. They also helped load the truck. Then came to the bridge to help with the service.
A few weeks ago we had a very special visitor come to the bridge. When we first met him 3 years ago under the bridge, he was a skinny crack addict. He is know on fire for the Lord and has had an amazing turn around in his life. He came to share with us the new blessings in his life. He is going to be married, he is in his own home, and has a great job. We all rejoice with him, God is so good.
